Interesting enough... THe answer is NO... The only reason that is in there
is to make you sick if you inhale it...
We were also told from the airgas company that even though their bottles
specify having it, they didnt. It was too much of a pain to mix it, so they
advertised it but it was not in there.... IT was medical grade nitrous... I
confirmed this when an overfilled bottle blew off in my car on the way to
record return runs in the morning a few years back... Did not get the sulfur
smell, and it was from a tank that listed it as having it...

Take a few huffs of yours, see if you start laughing and smiling or blowing
chunks... We will see if they were lying or not... Got to love the real
world tests.

Just run what you got.

Jon

I'll word this carefully so I don't get anyone too curious -- but is
there any difference between nitrous I get from a race shop (with
sulphur dioxide) and nitrous at the dentist's office (no SO2)? That
is, is the SO2 vital to the operation of the engine, and if I use
medical grade N2O without the smelly stuff I'll hurt something?

My bottles read "100 ppm SO2" -- that's not a whole heck of a lot of
sulphur -- but maybe it's important. I'd appreciate hearing a
definitive answer. Thanks.
