David Lee Newby Sr.
David LeeNewby , Sr. Will Be Missed Dave passed away on August 20th, 2004
after a long battle with prostate cancer. It was the last day of the races on
the Bonneville Salt Flats, and it appeared as if he waited to hear the
outcome.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lee Newby. He is survived by his
children David Newby, Dennis Newby, Denise Hudson, Kyle Newby, David Newby,
Desiree Dawn (Missy) Newby, Audra Sushak, Shauna Sowles, and Brian Follett.
Additionally, he is survived by many friends in the SCTA-BNI and Utah Racing
Association, as well as his good friend Walt Scott. He enjoyed his work at the
races
for 21 years, and this important time generated some of his fondest memories.
A memorial service will be held at the Wendover Christian Fellowship in
Wendover, Utah on Tuesday, August 24th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers,
please
offer donations to the Huntsman Cancer Institute or Hospice for Utah. Our
sincerest thanks go out to all of his care providers from hospice.
