You'd of course have to check with tech to see if it's legal(I can see no
reason why not), but if I were running a car and wanted to seal things in the
firewall(wires, tubes, holes, etc.) I would use Electricians putty(duct
seal). It's made by GB Electrical and can be had at any home depot or Lowe's,
part #DS-110. It seals 100%, it never hardens so takes a tremendous amount of
vibration and is easily removed and replaced for servicing the item it's
sealing.
I'm going to start sealing some of my electrical connections that don't use
Deutsch connections this way for both vibration and corrosion resistance.
