Wheel covers are prohibited in F-1. A rotating assembly, in a slip-stream, generates vortices. A vortex is turbulent and will destroy laminar flow over aerodynamic surfaces and thus adds drag. Aero drag or brake cooling. you be the judge. -Elon |
