I go to the local Veteran's Home twice a week and read to the fellows 
for forty-five minutes or so (that's as long as my voice will last).  I 
know they're getting my support, it doesn't cost anything, and there's 
no question in my mind that it really is getting done.

Simple, no boycotts required, and I personally get to see their smiles.
