One event you always missed at the Silver State races was the
"Hooker's Choice" car show held at the Green Lantern the night
before the race. Quite often, after a hard night of work &
partying, the "girls" would pile into the back of a pickup
(truck) and travel down course to the finish line. One of the
funniest things I've ever seen.... After crossing the finish,
I parked, got out & peeled off the top part of my firesuit.
The truck load "audience" began hoots & hollars for me to take
it all off. One of the louder "girls" punctuating her cheers
by waving a half-consumed bottle of Jack Daniels, fell out of
the back of the truck, face first into the sand. Like good
soldiers, her co-workers left her where she fell. In honor of
all the good cheer these "ladies" spread at the races (no
telling what else they spread) the ATV I use at the salt has
a Green Lantern sticker on the tail light.......
