BRUCE AND LIST

I will start with the lost easteners, John Beckett, Joe Timney and a few
others came west to see racing in the dirt. They got their monies worth for
sure. They will have to tell their own stories as I don't have that much time
today. Now about El Mirage Nov.2002 The two day meet was fantastic as far as
the weather, 126 entries and a total of 284 runs. Larry Lindsley driving the
Liggitt's lakester to a new AA record of 308.605 mph, Mike Nish in the Royal
Purple streamliner with a 244.972 record, John Noonan on two wheels with a
unreal speed of 232.311 mph on a legal street bike. Turbo Rick had his best
ever at 218 mph.

The rain the week before made a big differance on the surface and allowed us
to make more runs than usual. The surface was in very poor condition due to
the lack of rain the last two years. It's hard to believe that the week before
there was standing water on the lake bed and this weekend it was almost
totally dry. The east end was muddy but we don't run in that area.

We had racers from Canada,Texas, the east coast and all just having a ball.
This was a great season finish for the lakes racers. Over all with two great
events on the salt
we lucked out and saw records set at all of the meets as did the ECTA racers
on the other coast. I am going to recap the year when I get a little more
time. So in short thats whats happining on this end,the sunny & dry coast
where it's 78 deg. right now
