Not to belabor the SCTA vs. NHRA safety question, but if you're worried about
landing on your head at 275 mph (and who wouldn't be?), just talk to Tony
Schumacher, or Gary Scelzi, or John Smith, all of whom basically disintegrated
at 275 mph after hitting the retaining wall and/or other cars--and all of whom
lived to race again.
I think it's great that SCTA rules are so stringent, but I still think
something can definitely be learned from the top-fuel chassis designers.
