Hi Folks, no-one has mentioned the "Murder in the Fast Lane" show Monday
night but I'm sure some of you saw it.

Those with white hair like myself remember that Mickey was one of the
great heroes of the Hot Rod and Bonneville movement of the '50s and '60s
and we respected his many achievements.

I personally didn't like some of the "spins" on the Monday show, what
did you think?

1. Why no mention at all of his first wife Judy?

2. Why call the one-way 406 mph run a "World Record"?

3. Mickey acknowledged himself in his early autobiography,
"Challenger", that he made a few enemies as he struggled to the top.
Why were none of them interviewed?

It seemed to me that the overall spin of the Monday show was to give the
prime suspect a trial on television, and find him guilty. But, the
actual trial will be in court, and a jury will determine guilt after
listening to all the evidence. I don't call this good journalism. TV
news is more an entertainment nowadays, than journalism.

One can't help but admire the dogged determination of Mickey's sister to
bring his killer to justice.

Cheers Ardun Bill
