Well laid out information. One thing you forgot to mention is the time frame
we must operate in now.

In the past, two way runs, we had to wait until ALL return record runs were
done before qualifing could begin for the day. I can remember not being able
to go to the line until late in the afternoon and also not being able to run
qualifying at all due to record run problems. I don't think any of us want
to come out to race, waiting the 12-14 hours of daylight we have to run in
to be told "come back tomorrow".

The advent of the two course venue and running record runs in the same
direction has increased the running time for all competitors. The way we
operate now, if either the short course or long course is done with record
runs we can begin qualifying on that course. As soon as the last record car
clears the course and the qualifying files are setup on the timer's computer
qualifing can begin.

The time frame was not as big a deal in the '60s and '70s when our entry was
120-150 total. Today with over 300 entries for Speedweek the SCTA-BNI must
look at the best possible format for the enjoyment of our entrants.
