Well Keith and list, the 2000 SCTA banquet is history. It was well attended
with about 280 hungry people on hand. With the racers starting to show up
around 3:30 pm to do set up and just to visit. It wasn't long before the lobby
and sports bar was getting crowded and waiting for the big room to open.
The dinner was great and the presentation of hard earned awards for the El
Mirage racers went over very well and the custom made trophies by Cliff
Wheeler were really nice.
Guests included Ardun Doug King accepting his class record trophy and his well
deserved El Mirage Dirty Two club Certificate and jacket. It was a good year
for Doug. Hard work and dedication pays off.
Ed & Chris Shearer came to join us from Salt Lake City. Always super to see
these two. Recogination to many of the racers for their achievments on the
dirt.
There were others that good words spoken about and their efforts including
Jack Costello with the runs made with the small engines in the lawn dart
streamliner.
There were Bonneville , El Mirage and Muroc Videos playing on the big screen
and two TV's. These were by Mark Brazeau.
The presentation was over a little before 11:00 and continued in the hall way
and sports bar. Carol and I got home a little after midnight and very tired.
Having fun sure zaps ones energy but worth it to be with the best racing
family in motor sports.
