I don't know if you knew, but Bill Summers flipped his modified as well that year. A couple of days later he came back to set a record that stood for years. The wheels on his car were tall and the body low enough that when it went up-side-down the only thing that touched the ground was the roll bar. I think the only damage to the car was a bent wheel.
