Thanks John. When progress on the flathead
roadster goes slow, I have this terrible fear
that all of next year's race weekends will come
and go before I get it done. Before I let that
happen, I'll pull out my old racing leathers and
run a bike. I do have a hotted up Harley
Sportser I could run rather than stay home, but I
also have a vintage BMW (now with sidecar) that I
ran as a road racer at Daytona one year. I think
it would be a blast to run it at Maxton. It
ain't that fast, but it stuck together when a lot
of fancy high-dollar bikes blew up, and it gave
me a very satisfactory finish at Daytona. It
kinda earned the right to be pulled out of the
shed and run one more time. One way or another -
you'll see me at Maxton again next year.
