I don=E2=80=99t recommend this method, but it =E2=80=9Cworked=E2=80=9D for =
me.
I was using a large spanner on the nut to turn the engine.=C2=A0 Later, for=
getting about the wrench, I got in and turned the key.=C2=A0 =C2=A0The engi=
ne turned, the wrench turned with it until it hit the inner sheet metal.=C2=
=A0 The wrench stopped, but the engine didn=E2=80=99t, and it spun the nut =
off.=C2=A0 Even sheared the bent-over lock washer!=C2=A0 No damage to the s=
heet metal, though.=C2=A0=20

I am struggling on a BJ8 engine to break the front pulley nut.
It is quite a recent rebuild so suspect Loctite or similar is maybe the cul=
prit.
Locking tab/cup is definitely free
Using the proper size 1/2 x 1 11/16 socket.
Flywheel end securely locked via long bar onto solid concrete
Tried:
Long Crescent wrench and pounding
Breaker bar with 26 in total leverage - just bends
Electric impact wrench - had no expectations really
Air impact tool with supposed 800ft lbs (?) of loosening torque
1/2 in impact tool that pounded with 4 lb hammer
Some heat from a propane source. Probably needs proper Oxy Acet heat ?
Any thoughts ideas appreciated.and please not that it should be CC !
