Over the past 20+ years I have broken more than 15 spokes (not at the same =
time). I had 4 broken at a tire shop by some gorilla working there. Harbor =
Freight sells a rig for less than $40 (watch for their sales) to remove the=
tire from the rim. Usually, you don't have to remove the tire, just pop t=
he seal and push inward to access the end of the spoke. Sometimes you need =
to remove the spokes on either side to replace broken one. Tighten by sound=
of all the spokes around the replaced one. I have heard of driving on 4 br=
oke spokes.

Subject: [Healeys] One broken spoke
I have Chrome 60-spoke wheels on my BN2, bought from British Wire Wheel aro=
und 2005.
Less than 20,000 miles on them. Hendrix installed Verdestein tires about 8=
years ago.
Today I found one broken short spoke on a rear wheel. Sheared at the hub e=
nd. I will
order a replacement soon, but should I worry about driving it in the meanti=
me?
