If you are positioning the front of the QJ under the motor mounts, then =
you are on the frame and that limits getting underneath the engine?  =
Don=E2=80=99t you find it difficult to reach under and in between the QJ =
frame?  By moving to the outriggers, you have an extra foot of work =
space underneath which means you can use a crawler underneath.  The use =
of a hydraulic jack or jack stands is just to stabilize the front end.  =
Actually, I just raised the car again and tried to move the front end =
down and it is stable, but, will still install a loosely attached =
stabilizer in the front.  I will always have the QJ in the fully locked =
position with the hydraulic ram at rest.

The doors are rather difficult to open, so I have to remember to leave  =
them ajar.

I position my Qjack unde the motor mounts in the front as that is the =
area of most weight.  Be very careful if you try to lower onto jack =
stands as the car will tend to move forward as it lowers.  Be careful as =
then rams for lifting can creep down and make the car tilted if you put =
a jack under the frame.

To the right #5 shows my first raising, lowering, on the frame and =
noticing it is difficult to get to the trans and engine.  As my =
outriggers are rock solid on the right side of the car #7 I decided to =
test using the out riggers. This is the easy side because no exhaust =
pipes in the way, as you can see in picture #5. In picture #6 and #3 a =
little pushing and shoving to get the QJ platforms in the right place to =
allow the blocks to meet the outriggers firmly.  Now that I know how it =
fits I will be able to get the car up on the QJ quicker.

As mentioned by one of the listeners, unfortunately, due to the weight =
of the engine the front of the car will require jack stands or a jack =
holding the front frame solidly while under the car. =20

Let me know what you think of this layout and any other you have =
discovered.

Now I can go about removing the interior and the trans to find the oil =
leaks coming from the engine plate.
