I have a 1967 BJ8 with completely engine, update radiator using original tanks, 
after market a/c, thermostat controlled fan in front of condenser and radiator. 
Engine temperature stays cool even in stop and go traffic. Also running new 
carbs. Maybe it is combination of all that keeps temp low.
