Sorry Alan, but that is nonsense. The only thing an air bubble may do is perhaps provide some damping if there is a serious vibration in the oil pressure, which is not likely or create a slight delay in the reading when the engine is cold and the oil pipe very long and thin. The pressure in the bubble will be the same as in the oil up or down the oil pipe. The reading will not be affected.
