engine number.

i have the feeling that the engine tag on the bn6 is a falsehood.  it says
29D, yet the engine is a 2.6 liter.  it looked like an original tag, and i had
to destroy those funny little rivets to get it off.  can anyone enlighten me
as to why anyone would put a false tag on the engine? is there something i
don't know about on these early healey engines?  healeymanjim
