On BN3s where the sender unit is in the radiator it's the same too. 

However with the sender unit in the top of the radiator it doesn't read
the correct engine coolant temperature until the thermostat opens and it
all starts flowing. Plus if the engine/radiator is low in coolant/water
the sender unit will only read the temperature of the hot air in the top
of the radiator.

It will be very close within just a few degrees, probably just slightly
less.  On a BN1/BN2 it's the same!
