Can't speak for others, but my problem was that the muffler heat shield
supplied in the "usual supplier" kit did not match the mounting studs on my
BJ7. I had three such shields supplied, none fit! I finally made my own, but
for the muffler only. By the way, The M*** kit contains the muffler heat
shield though not itemized in their catalog. The carb heat shield is not in
their kit. One concern is the texture or appearance of any material used to
make your own should you be looking for anything near original.
