I hear people complain about the "poor" map all the time. The map is actually
alot better than I ever expected it to be using just a 2 axis accelerometer
and time. In fact I would call it amazing that it comes as close as it does.
True, if your car is loose it shows some huge accelerations which distort the
map. I don't even bother trying to fix those. The map is basically just a
reference so when you look at where you had bad usage, you can find it on the
real course map to know where you had trouble. It is good enough to see from
run to run when you are braking later and how well your turn in to the corner
was.

But the map is not created until it analyzes the data around each point, so
there is no way it could predict when you are coming to a corner to warn you
when to brake. Even if you had a perfect stored run to compare to on the fly,
and chnge in line will throw off how far into the course you are. The F1
systems can do things like this, but they have perfect track maps stored, and
look at all 4 wheel speds, and cross hard timing lines on course to keep
re-centering your location on the map. GEEZ is not meant to replace F1
systems.
