Tom, while there have been a number of shipping companies suggested, =
packaging the engine was not mentioned. At a minimum it will need to be =
securely strapped to a pallet, but that does not offer much protection. =
The engine should really be enclosed in a crate. I ship my Miata =
engines in a specific engine shipping container. I made a steel frame =
in the container to secure the engine. The small block Chevy engine =
container (Scribner Plastics 5108CHEV Engine Case on Amazon for $267) =
works well. With the cost of lumber and the time to make a crate, it =
might be easier to buy and use the container. It's been costing me =
around $500 to ship from MA to KS via FedEx Freight.
