n the first session.</div><div dir=3D"ltr">A spectator, a GT6 guy named Brad=
brought me a moss covered barn find transmission that we installed under th=
e Kansas moonlight.</div><div dir=3D"ltr">The next day I was racing again.</=
div><div dir=3D"ltr">I have this distinct memory of Sam Halkias screaming up=
behind me in the Catawamba Marina TR6. Looking back through my wink mirror h=
e waved, paused and signaled to me with facial expressions and hand signals t=
hat only us auto racers could understand saying =E2=80=9Cnice job little bud=
dy, here I come; I=E2=80=99m now going to fly by you on your left side=E2=80=
=9D.</div><div dir=3D"ltr">We partied, raced, bought an Ambro body and finis=
hed our first Kastner Cup there in Heartland Park.</div><div dir=3D"ltr">Whe=
n I got home, there it was, a long and personal email from Kas Kastner=E2=80=
=A6praising me, my dedication, the sound of my car, my driving style, and la=
p by lap list of how many tenths of second I was improving each lap in a seg=
ment of the track where he was taking =E2=80=9Csplits=E2=80=9D.</div><div di=
r=3D"ltr">I couldn=E2=80=99t believe it.</div><div dir=3D"ltr">It was the st=
art of what Kas called our =E2=80=9Cunique kinship=E2=80=9D</div><div dir=3D=

I have an IRS chassis on my '64 and use a quaife and running LOTS of torque a=
nd never break an inside wheel loose but in Colorado we can run the Hoosier R=
7/SM7 DORT slicks. That has to be factored in.<br>
That said, an IRS rear end will almost always grip better than a live axle w=
ith or without a LSD.<br>
Overly stiff rear sway bars is usually the culprit. I run 3/4" on mine. A lo=
cker has always been out of the question for me.<br>
