I feel the same way Mike. Those were great times due entirely to who we kept
company with but there is no chance I'll ever attend another $VRA event.
Even back then, they were more interested in the "big money" cars rather
than the production sports car folks, yet I recall Triumphs filling the
entire track for the parade laps. Mid-Ohio with their Nazi-like "security"
and $VRA with its attentions to the moneyed few, seem to have shot
themselves in the foot. Triumph guys have found other locations and groups
more friendly to run with.

Last year we went to mid Ohio for the first time in nearly a decade, SVRA
had hired some local tech guys. Probably SCCA. They did not understand
vintage cars and there did not seem to be any mgmt guidance. After nearly
30 min of arguing and further dismantling of my car to try and satisfy him,
I was about ready to load up and leave. Seriously. Just before I did so,
some one showed up, did not introduce himself but said I could go. I didn't
bother to ask for anyone to sign my logbook, just took my sticker and went
back to the good old Triumph tree in the grass paddock. I miss those days
with Dentinger, Wismer, Karen, Russ Moore and all the rest of the huge crowd
of TRs that used to go.

trying to have a good relationship with SVRA. Although the registerers and
admin staff at SVRA have been TERRIFIC to deal with, some other areas of the
staff have been far less than satisfactory. Tony is alway nice to us when
we see him. However, we have gotten the royal run around in another area by
SVRA. I am not a happy member at this time. We renewed are SVRA membership
for 1 more year and we are going to give SVRA RA event another run this
year. If we do not have a great experience (weather excluded, because they
do not control that), we will done with SVRA and the Spring event at RA
until another organization starts running the event.

(that's my default May race). Tech was a pain, turnout was low, weather was
mediocre (I know SVRA doesn't control THAT :) ). Who is doing Gingerman
with VSCDA instead? Or other options?
