Barry's right on the chamfer of the bolt holes to clear the radius under the
new bolt head. I bought new ones last year as direct replacements for the old
ARP bolts. The heads popped off of three of them in the first session. We now
have chamfered bolt holes.

Hi Brad - FYI - As I'm in the process of installing the flywheel on my TR3
motor using ARP flywheel bolts, the instructions emphasize the following:
"Do NOT use any washers with ARP Flywheel Bolts. They are designed to be
installed without them. ARP will NOT be responsible for failure resulting
from using a washer with this kit. Make sure that flywheel bolt holes are
chamfered adequately to clear radius under the head of the bolt."
Torque specs are as Scott has indicated.

The ARP instruction sheet should come into play here. Mine says 40 lb/ft
with ARP Moly Lube or 60 lb/ft with 30 weight.

Subject: [Fot] Torque specs needed ASAP!
I'm hoping someone will have a good idea of what torque to use for
fastening the flywheel to Susan's 1300 Spitfire motor. It has a
Moldex crank, aluminum flywheel and ARP bolts with ARP washers. The
thread size is 3/8x24. I will also be using loctite during the
install.
Any suggestions on torque spec?
