I am in the process of replacing the bushes in the front and back eyes
of my rear leaf springs.
In doing so, I realized that the rear shackle was easy to detach but
the spring won't come off of the front attachment pin. According to
the FOT link below, it's clear that these are a notorious pain.

Anyway, I realized that this pin is seized to the inner metal bush
inside the front spring eye. When I move the spring up and down from
the back, I can see that the pin is turning quite easily in the
frame. This means that as the leaf spring flexes up and down, this
pin is pivoting up and down in the frame. Is this thing supposed to
move or should it stay put?
