Been there, joined the condenser a week club and discovered that they 
are not cheaper by the dozen.

The problem boils down to the distributor body where it connects to the 
block does not make a reliable ground with Mallory distributors.  Works 
with some distributors but not with others.

The cure is to add a ground wire between the engine and the distributor 
body. 

Now if I can just figure out what to do with this pile of spare 
condensers that have been sitting around for the last couple years.  I 
got quick at swapping condensers along the side of the road though.
