There also the fact that the investigator was not really focusing  about the 
placement of hood louvers to get cold air into the area  where the air intake 
was under the hood, simply trying to lower the  overall engine compartment 
temperatures. Obviously the latter helps, but I  wonder if a different pattern 
would have evolved if it was included as a  consideration.
