"American" Team at Le Mans

Anybody else think that calling the Champion Team that ran Audi R8's at Le 
Mans with all European drivers an "American" Team a bit odd especially when 
trying to compare it to the last American Team that won - Gurney and Foyt 
in a GT40.

Wonder how many of the other team members (the crew, etc.) are US Residents 
let alone Citizens and thereby "American".
