I remember it was about 1958 to 1960 while I was in the pit area at the race
track at St. Eugene, a former WWII airport in eastern Ontario.  Everyone was
looking at the cars with their hoods (bonnets) up.  From an XKSS Jag with
twin overhead cams, we next went to a SAAB where everyone laughed as I
remarked about the SAAB.  "Look, it has a single overhead fan shaft".
