Early on (late 1970s and early 1980s) the VSCDA did annual Hill Climbs at
both Lake Geneva and Janesville. The Janesville event was 'historically
significant', as in the early 1950s it used to telescope with the Elkhart Lake
street
race. Sports cars from all over the country would do the hill climb and then
the Elkhart Lake race. But crowd (public) control became a MAJOR problem, and
we have not done any since.
We used to have around 70 entries, and would get 4-6 runs.
