When Triumph racing was still young in the USA, Ed Barker was a mature driver
who knew his way around a race track - you should have seen him run at
Riverside! - a great combination of driver, technician and friend, always
available to give advice to newcomers.
Kas Kastner had a knack for choosing drivers and age wasn't important which he
proved first with Ed Barker and later with Charlie Gates.
Ed was a good companion and we enjoyed a couple of hangovers together! I don't
know about the hangover part but he certainly passed on all his other driving,
mechanical and people skills to his son Jerry.
We will all miss him.

I have just received a call from Jerry Barker informing me that his
father, Ed Barker, passed away this past Saturday morning due to a heart
attack.
