You are our Group Representative. Perhaps we could have a meeting in the
South Paddock in July.
This seems like a worthwhile point of discussion.
In Mosport they split the cars. If the Sprite or Porsche 356 was on steroids
they moved it to an appropriate group. Pretty pleasant weekend this way.
Unfortunately difficult to administer and not fun when your buddies are not
running with you. On the other hand it is a lot more satisfying when some
Hun isnt peeling the chrome off your door handles with his cubic cash
bathtub. (this should not be taken personally) Really the Porsches are very
well prepared and well driven.
On the other hand, if nothing changes, I am still happy (cop out) Ultimately
"IT DOESNT MATTER!)
I like to think of group two as the kinder gentler group with a higher level
of interest in preserving the cars as they really were. Porsche 356s do not
fit this description generally.
BTW, at Blackhawk they put them in with the specials, I believe. There was
thunderous clapping when folks realized what had been announced. That was a
vote for change if I heard one.

Well, last I heard 356's were going to stay in group 2 in V.S.C.D.A. :-(

Since I scattered the gear box that weekend...I did not run Blackhawk Farms
but,
I'm glad to here it! I for one feel the 356's should be in group 8. Is
that
where they put them at B.H.F.? We have alot of great SAFE and CLOSE racing
in
group 2. However, I think it would be a bit more fun if most of us were not
laped after a few laps into a race by the rise and fall guys. Most group 2
folks i've talked to expressed the same. What do the rest of you think.
Each
and every race should not be run such that the vast majority of group 2
needs
to be in there mirriors as if we were out there with the CanAm's. I'm not
being a dink about this but, I think it's a good idea to move them out of
group 2. (Or make sure they comply to group spec.)
