I have a Kirkey seat in my TR4 autocrosser and I absolutely love it. I don't
know how comfortable it'll be for several hours (the longest I've sat in it
was about 60 seconds) but hopefully I'll get to find out next year when I hope
to venture into the "Vintage" world. The only caveat I'd mention is that you
have to make sure it's not the widest size they sell (17" I think). That wide
wouldn't allow me to be centered behind the wheel. I'm using the mid-size seat
(15" I think). It's a good tight fit and once I'm nestled down in it, it's
quite comfortable. One problem you'll run into though, especially if you're
using a large steering wheel and/or have short legs, is that you'll have a
time getting out of the car because of the left side rib protection. I
attached my seat to the original seat slides and can slide it all the way back
to the rollbar for easier ingress and egress. I also attached my tiny little
steering wheel to one of the quick release adapters, but that isn't really
necessary if you can slide the seat back. I would think my arrangement will
be legal for vintage since I'm using the original slides, but who knows. I
hope so, because it's sure nice being "locked" into the seat no matter what
the car is doing, but it's also nice to be able to get out of the car without
having to bend my knees backwards. Incidentally, I bought mine at a local
"roundy-round" shop for $159, more than mail order, but it allowed me to buy
the wrong size first and then return it right away. YMMV...
