Since we're discussing the rear brake adjuster, here's a helpful
hint:

The adjustment post is 1/4 inch square. A small open end will
work, but there's a very real chance of rounding off the post corners
if you need to apply any real force.

Take a 1/4 inch socket, any smallish size (anything around 3/16
to 1/4 is good) and dig up a matching allen wrench. Shove the
short end of the allen wrench into the 'nut' end of the socket.
For a pro job use a bit of duct tape to hold them together :-)

Viola. You now have a 1/4 square socket with a handle. Perfect
fit, won't slip, won't damage the post.
