Paint Colors

Listers:

Two items--were they painted on an early 1967 1600?
(1) Horns;
(2) The metal piece that the door closes to, held on by 3 flat screws.
The previous owner painted just about everything with black POR 15. When I 
removed it from the door latch I noticed white paint (original color). I would 
not have thought these would be painted.
