I decided to look at a clocks that wasn't working. The motor would not turn
the gears. I checked the voltage at the motor and it looked ok. I removed
the motor and without a load it seemed to work pretty well. But it wouldn't
handle much of a load without stopping - just a very small amount of
pressure. I thought that the gears turned very easily, so I suspected the
motor. I had another clock that worked and mounted that motor along with the
resistor in the nonworking one. Still didn't work.
Has anyone every monkeyed around with a clock with similar problems?
Maybe it just needs a good cleaning and oiling.
Thanks for any ideas.
