Any meter that uses a narrow band 02 sensor can only tell you whether you
are lean, rich, or at stoichometric.
Stoichometric (14.7:1 air/fuel) is best for emissions, but not for power.
For power you want it alittle bit richer, the problem is a narrow band
sensor will tell you you are rich or lean BUT NOT by how much! So it is
pretty much useless for anything but tuning for emissions.
If you want to seriously tune and KNOW what your fuel ratio is, you have to
get a Wideband 02 sensor, and a controller that works with it.
Tech Edge and Innovative are two companies that, I have heard, make
reasonable WB O2 controllers/gauges, but they are not cheap! There are
others, a Google search should give you 1/2 dozen or more.
