Starter problem

Good afternoon,
I've got the motor in, everything plumbed up, and went to turn the key. All I 
got was a clicking sound from the starter. It's a brand new gear reduction 
starter. Any ideas? I was starting to get a little cocky after I got all the 
fluids in and thought it might just go on the first try. :-)
