Fortunately I am not headed for Shasta this weekend. Yesterday my car
decided to show me a clutch problem that has probably been growing, but I
did not see until I tried to put it in reverse at a tire shop and the tranny
ground gears. The pedal was on the floor.

Further checking found that pumping the clutch while holding it mostly down
causes the clutch to engage closer and closer to the floor until it finally
engages with the pedal on the floor. Releasing the clutch completely and
waiting 10 seconds or so allows the clutch to work properly and pumping will
start the whole process over again.

Today I bled the clutch and replaced the fluid at least twice. No change.
I am hoping the answer is not a master cylinder because this on only has
about 2500 miles since I purchased it new from Nissan. The slave cylinder
was replaced new at the same time. I notice that the bleeder screw is on
the bottom side of the slave cylinder. Is that correct, or are the hose and
bleeder interchangeable? I can't remember, but I think that is the way I
received the slave cylinder.
