That much variability in engine weight is reasonable, considering the 
possible differences in configuration:
aluminum vs. cast iron head, about 20 lbs difference
smog pump and associated hardware will add some weight as well

I have a spare 5 speed I can weigh tonight.  Should be pretty close to 
the 4 speed.
