Check to make sure it's the springs that are bottoming and not the
shocks. You can put a little grease on the tops of the bump stops.
After the car bottoms, check to see it the grease is on the chassis now.
If it's not, the spring didn't bottom

I have the same problem with my 70 2000. I checked the springs and they
are all intact. The previous owner had put adjustable air shocks on it
and told me to keep them at about 35 psi. I was checking the shocks out
recently and a friend and I had to actually lift the body up to remove
the shocks. I'm thinking he out the wrong shocks on it but haven't
gotten around to replacing them yet. Boosting the air pressure to about
50 psi helped but I still think I have the wrong shocks.
