Holidays are coming
Along with the stress
Family fights and arguments
About who cooks the best
(I do by the way)
So leave the Jell-O salad
That green bean casserole and
The yams sticky icky with goo
You bring them to my door
Ill toss them in the trash for you
Its a brined turkey with apples, sage and onions
Corn bread dressing with a little red pepper
Baked sweet potatoes in cider
Cranberries and apples too
Dark turkey gravy thatll make you lick your plate
Some of this and that to round out the meal
Pumpkin pie-organic is best
A dried peach and apricot cobbler-dash of cointreu
With real whipped cream aka marital aid
(Meals arent boring at my house)
So if you want to piss and moan
Stay away or leave it at the door
Truth be told folks
It always has and always will be
Holidays and family are a royal pain
Life just isnt a Rockwell painting
