Hello fellow roadsterites,
We had a really nice mini-meet at the Schumanns in New Braunfels this weekend.
Six roadsters showed up and four made the trip to Wimberly for lunch. I
managed to run out of gas halfway to the restaurant, but I was the only
casualty of the trip. The afternoon temperature was a chilly 80 degrees, and
the morning temperature was a mind-boggling 55 degrees in some of the higher
elevations around Austin. Lots of sunshine and a gentle breeze.
Our next TDROC mini-meet will be Saturday and/or Sunday at Texas Motor
Speedway. Andy, Mike Steinbach and I are planning to run the autocrosses at
TMS this weekend. Show up at around 10:00 on the East Side of the grandstands
to watch the autocross, eat lunch South of Alliance Airport (about 15 minutes
away) then home or back to the autocross. Lots of little curvy roads in the
area, scenic Eagle Mountain Lake is nearby, and the Pro Bass Shop at Grapevine
Mills Mall is less than an hour away. Come either day or both. We are
looking for new or renewal members, but are not set up to take dues, so don't
send money yet. If you know someone who might be interested in joining, have
them visit the website www.tdroc.com and fill out a form.
If things go well we can plan for a statewide meet in the near future. If you
want a mini-meet in your area, let me know and we'll try to plan one. Sorry,
but the Left Coast is too far away to drive there and back in a day, so no
TDROC mini-meet in California unless you do all the work.
