Hey List,

Bored on Sunday waiting to see what lucky Ebay bidder gets to "win" my
friendly motorcycle. Soon to be beemerless, so thinking roadster
thoughts?

First the easy one. Well, my fuel delivery problems haven't been solved.
But, at least the snake that's been staring me in the face finally hissed
loud enough to get my attention. Seems some brilliant grease monkey (I
won't even blame a PO) decided to run the roadster up with a floor jack to
the gas tank. Explains why I only get 5 serviceable gallons, and 7 with
the right topography. And, most probably why the lower the fuel level,
the more the carbs feel starved. So, I'd like to beg a late gas tank from
some kind generous soul. If that doesn't work, I'll give you some money
for one <g>.

And, no, I don't want to go lower. But I've heard two folks mention
considering lowering their Roadsters.

To date, race cars and my '69 2000 are all I've seen. So, I've yet to see
another in active duty - yeah, the joys of Houston life. I lack a point
of reference.

So, I just got back from the garage. Used my handy ruler to confirm that
the lower edge of my body has 6" of ground clearance at most. And, I
guesstimate the exhaust at about 4". I do sit on shorter 185/60 14s so
add maybe an inch for stock height tires.

My question for you guys: Anybody really trying to sit lower than this?
Where in the US is the speed bump free zone you're enjoying <g>? Or, more
likely in fact, can you guesstimate how much my car has been lowered? If
she has in fact been lowered, this is an example of good work by the
previous owner that accomplished it (notice how I spell out PO for the
good stuff <g>). My primary indicator is: the rear spring arch looks
natural and performs remarkably. Anyway, I just wish they'd thrown an LSD
at her 'cause this spin the easy tire junk is really starting to work my
nerves (used to driving marginally street legal race cars or motorcycles,
so ...). Hmm, thoughts of Quaiffe - any info?
