For the sill on the rocker panels, we took my old ones to a local sheet metal
shop and had some new ones made out of brushed stainless steel. To keep them
looking like new, I go over them once a year with one of those abrasive
sponges for pots and pans. For the doors, we had some interior carpet cut to
match the shape of the panels and then had them stitched on the edges. We
installed them with the same mounting holes and some interior adhesive.
I have always thought that the aluminum that Datsun used in those two area's
looked like it was left over from the re-mod that they did on the
outhouse....(That oughta generate a few letters to the editor......oh well,
just my humble opinion:-)
Oh yeh......The total cost for the panels was $10.00 ea. and the interior
shop charged me $15.00 to stitch the edges of the carpet.
