What is the W32/Goner Virus?
This highly destructive virus, which takes the form of an e-mail with a
screensaver attachment, will delete critical files in the Windows directory of
your PC. Then it will send itself to everyone in your Outlook Personal Address
Book.
My firm's anti-virus vendor has placed this virus on the high alert list; it is
spreading quickly worldwide. This virus was identified for the first time today.
The e-mail message containing the virus will have the following subject and
body text:
Subject Hi
Body How are you ?
When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought about you
I am in a harry, I promise you will love it!
The e-mail message will also have an attachment named GONE.SCR.
If you double-click the attachment, your PC will be infected.
