Ok everyone here's the low-down on the Chandler Christmas Parade of lights:
Time: Meeting in downtown Chandler af 4:00-4:30 pm on Sat Dec 1st. This
will allow time to decorate the cars, and judging will take place before the
parade as well. The parade is scheduled to start at 6:30pm, but they will be
blocking off the roads around 5:00pm. GOOD idea to be there BEFORE 5:00 pm.
There may be a waiting around, so bring a patio chair and that thermos full
of hot coffee !! (Hey- you're used to this from the Pavilions!) There will
be concessions available around town and public "facilites" to make the wait
easier.
Where: Get yourself to Downtown Chandler. From either I-10 or 101 (Price)
You should take the Chandler Blvd exit. Head EAST until you get to Arizona
Ave. ( This is the same street as Country Club in Mesa) Go EAST on Chandler
Blvd past Arizona to DELAWARE. This is the small road just before the
railroad tracks. Turn right (SOUTH) on Delaware and go to CHICAGO. On CHICAGO
you should turn right (WEST) and there you will find the city barricades.
Just tell the nice folks from the city that you are with the Datsun club in
the parade and they will direct you to the proper spot.
Our group will be somewhere in the middle of the parade line-up. I can not
say exactly when we will be done, BUT we have reserved the club room at ROUND
TABLE PIZZA for 7:30 pm for afterwards. Round Table is at the NW corner of
Rural and Ray ( Next to the big Fry's Marketplace) From Downtown Chandler
head WEST to RURAL road. Turn right (NORTH) on rural and Ray is 1 mi
North.This is "BYOP" (buy your own pizza) We should be able to get group
discounts, but as yet, that is not confirmed.
