I have driven 200 miles on a sunday when a front tire gave up.
I did not exceed 50 mph and the donut tire was still good to use.
Michelin makes a skinny tire similar to Citroen 2CV that's used
as spare in Saab 9000. This tire should be inflated to something
like 40 psi. Read sidewall instructions. I think the size is 115/70-15
and it's made for a 3.5 inch wide wheel. Saab 900 used 4x4.5" up
to 1987 but the offset is wrong. No Saab had smaller than 15 inch.
I used a Saab steel wheel as spare for my 240Z that was cut down
in width to 3.5 inch. Why not use a space saver from a 280ZX ???
The wheel is 14 inch and has the right offset.
